I should be obscrved that owing to the action of the Chineze Government, the use of the lunar calendar among Chinc so may perhaps disappear and that, in such an cvent the bonus will become payable in December instcad of January or February For the first year thcroforc in which the change takes cffcct, it may be ncecssary to budget for two bonuscs.

Paragraph 32 - In view of the increases in salary accorded to the Private Scerctary and Aidc-dc-Camp, it is considered that the Conveyance Allowance of $360 per annum cach now drawn by the sc officers should be

abolished.

Paragraph 34 It will be more conronicnt to include

under the head. "Governor in the Annual Estimates the

wages of the chauffcur for the second Government Fouse Car (scc paragraph 36). At present the Governor himsclf pays a portion ($240 per annum) of the wages of the chauffeur for his second (private) car, the rerisinder ($600 per annum) being paid from Fire Brigadc funds. The ages of the motor cleaner $192 pcr annum noy paid by the Governor personally should also bo transferred to public expendituro under the serc head. The saving to the Governor represented by these charges,
